Guide Ventures was the creation of five commited and experienced entrepreneurs and private investors: Russ Aldrich, Sarah Kingma, David Kowalick, Mike Templeman and Jim Thornton.

Russ and Jim followed up on their notion that good executives make good investors by building a small fund to specifically reach out to entrepreneurs using their own experiences as a template for success.

Throughout 1999 and the ensuing years, Guide Ventures has worked with top tier investment firms on the West Coast to build successful companies in new media (Ad Relevance), eFinancial services (ShareBuilder), electronic security (nCircle), consumer branding (Virtual Relocation) and storage management (Bocada).

Today, the principals of the firm are engaged with companies at an executive level helping to build the next level of Web-centric business.
